Welcome to my website! I intend to explore and explain the various hardships and sucesses experienced by my ancestors that traveled half way around the World, endured harness, sought a better place for their families, and came out better for it. When exploring my ancestry I discovered that 49% of my DNA is Irish, from Munster, Ireland, 22% is from Scotland, and about 24% from parts of England. I am second generation Canadian DNA wish to share my parental and maternal ancestor’s journeys to North America and get into my life’s journey as well. I hope you enjoy my exploration , whether you have an avid interest in my ancestors or in my personal journey. Enjoy your stay!
On my Paternal side I have the Moriarty’s from Ireland. This is 49% of my DNA. The immigration of my grandfather Daniel Moriarty is one filled with struggles as the situation in Ireland was quite difficult. My grandfather sought work in England before immigrating to Canada, so it is a different story but also brave and not without hurdles. I think you will find it interesting, especially if you are interested in the Moriarty’s in general or my own advantures. Click the button below to follow along!
On my Maternal side I have the Sinclair’s from Scotland. This is 22% of my DNA. The immigration of my 5th great grandfather John ‘Sinkler’ (name changed later to Sinclair, and yet later to St. Clair) is one filled with hardship but inevitable overcoming of all odds. I try my best to recount the story using historical records and accounts I have found. This story is not one of Royalty, or glorious tales but actually recounts some harsh realities my ancestors endured. Click on the button below to follow along!
